Warm Weather Wear
My high water marks in life are marrying m'lady, Susannah, and the birth of my two daughters back in 2006 and 2007. It could also be said that 12-15 year old Pete was a high water mark of sorts. Too young to work, too old to play with Hot Wheels.
This was a time of exploration, a time to be free, and a time to carve out some personal interests that could make me stand out. For me, this meant spending summers at Ron Millar's house in Seal Beach. We ditched our boogie boards and upgraded to some single fins at a nearby garage sale. Mine was a Hawaiian board by South Shore. I called it the Purple People Eater. Ron's was a beautiful orange and white Webby T with an amazing shape down to the tiny swallow tail. We surfed everyday on the south side of the pier and surfed with the turtles at Crabs (the north end).
Ron's dad, Phil, was an amazing dad. This guy somehow bled aloha, and ultimate bachelorism, in the same breath. He bought us "dollar" steaks. Combined with an unlimited amount of Kraft blue box mac and cheese, we were set. Can't say we ate any vegetables during those summers.
Phil's uniform from the feet up: rainbow flip flops, cut offs, and various tee shirts. To combat the summertime sweat, he tucked in those tri-fold napkins you find at a public bathroom in his pits to absorb the sweat. I think he just really dug his shirts and wanted to keep them fresh until the day was done. Shout out to Phil and his pursuit to playing the long game with his southern california style.
For Tellason, we dip into a handful of summer styles and these two lightweight, poplin dandies, are ready to go as our "Item of The Week" This 100% cotton printed fabric hails from Japan and is cut and sewn in San Francisco. We are stocked up and ready so have a go while they last.
