This is one outstanding denim jacket. I am thrilled with it and hope to have many years with it.
I just received the jacket today, so I can't comment on it based on use. But I do know quality when I see it. The Cone Mills denim is great, the construction quality and stitching are great, and the overall aesthetic and functionality are just about perfect. Hardly a loose thread to be found, seems the quality assurance is there. Beats out even some of my favorite, more expensive clothing brands where I have to spend 10-15 minutes looking around the garment to snip all the loose thread off. I don't mind doing that, but it's something to point out about attention to detail. I saw this jacket online a couple of years ago, but never thought much of it. A few weeks ago I ran into it again and my entire mindset changed out of nowhere. Just had to have it. I've never been a denim jacket type of person (I do love high quality selvedge jeans though), and I've owned a couple of trucker jackets that I could just never get into — I just don't like short jackets that stop at the hips, I suppose. The length on this jacket is exactly what I like, and the pockets are great. Particularly the long riveted pocket that you can store just about anything that you carry on a daily basis into. The pocket on the bottom right with the stitching separating it into two compartments isn't useful for me, but nothing a seam ripper or small pair of scissors can't fix. The only downside would be the interior pocket. Seems a little small width-wise and I'm not Sizing is true to size. Of course, what that means wildly varies depending on what brands you're used to: I'd say the medium fits between what a medium would be in a fashion brand (I can rarely fit into medium jackets in those) and a workwear brand (pretty much always roomy, mostly for layering and maneuverability). With about a 41" chest, I would have to size up if I wanted to layer more than just an undershirt and shirt. The sleeve length, for me, is spot on. Outstretch my arms and the cuffs still cover the wrist, ala trucker style, but don't stack terribly while my arms are down by my side; just enough that when the jacket starts fading, the light stacking will start to take on a unique look. This jacket will be getting a lot of use, only getting better as it starts breaking in. Tellason really is an admirable company, still making their garments in the US while many companies have moved away from that. This is actually my first Tellason product, but it won't be the last.
The material the stiching the fit everything is so high quality. I can tell I'll get a lifetime a use out of this jacket. I'm 6'3 190 and the xl fits me great a little big but that makes it perfect to wear a lighter shirt underneath.
It's the best denim jacket that I have ever owned, and it is only going to get better with age.
Had my eye on this jacket for about 3 years. Finally had the $ to snag it. Inquired with Tellason via Instagram about the fit that they reccomend I get and they suggested a Medium. They were spot on! Jacket is lengthy enough in sleeves and waist(I hate short jackets) and body is slighty contoured so it does look boxy. The jacket is not too light and not too heavy. The pockets come in handy. Classic go with everything, everyday jacket
Just wanted to leave a comment about the fantastic experience shopping from you. I usally wear XL (54 in suits). Ordered a L which i s perfect for me who will not wear thick clothing beneath. Thanks again!
Absolute quality jacket, perfect fit. Was wondering whether the measurements would come up a bit large on me as they were very close to another brand of ‘chore’ coat that I own, which while that one fits and looks fine, there’s just a ‘niggling’ 1/2 size too big feeling. I need not have worried with this one, I went with my normal size (M) and it fits absolutely perfectly, even the sleeves, that on most jackets I find just that little bit too long, while they are still just an inch or so long on this one, due to the cut and style it really doesn’t show - there’s just something about the way that this coverall has been cut that it sits and fits perfectly. I’m a bit of a denimhead and do tend to go selvage most of the time, but price (and the fact that I was getting it sent to the U.K. (have been burned by customs, duty, taxes and admin fees before) made me choose this Stock one. Definitely no regrets, apart from if the stock version is this great what are the selvage versions like? :-) The standard denim on this Stock Coverall is amazing and I’m definitely looking forward to how it’s going to age.
