Great product. The quality, in construction and material, is absolutely top flight. Unfortunately, it did not fit my body measurements. If you have thighs larger than 25" in circumference at the widest point, these jeans will probably not fit you.
These are the nicest jeans I've owned. You can't help but notice the quality when you get the chance to inspect the product. I haven't had the chance to break them in yet, but after a few days of wear they stretched a bit and began to conform to my body (I ended up with a pair 1" up in size from my vanity waist size and 1" down from my true waist size). I'm 5'9" about 200lbs. I tried the ankara and the legs were far too big for me. The Sheffield leg tapered to a perfect fit. They're long, but I knew I would have to get them hemmed anyway. Easy to talk to the folks that work there and have them direct you to the right fit. Easy to handle returns if the first pair doesn't fit. They had a great turn around to get my next pair out as well. Highly recommend the company.
I am 40 years old and was looking for another pair of raw denim. I went with the 14oz since I already owned a pair of 17 oz. I also live in Miami so the weather is pretty hot year around. The Jeans are of Great Quality. If you are looking for a classic fit made in the USA with a bit of taper these are the jeans for you. I was also impressed with the Great Customer Service. After a hot soak I sent them back to Tellason for the hem service and got them back pretty quick. I've been wearing them now for about a week and they are breaking in perfectly. Thanks Again Guys.
I'm very happy with my purchase from Tellason. Here are some observations on my experience and the jeans I purchased. Customer Service: I ordered two sizes of the 14.75oz Sheffield (30" & 31") to test the fit. Had a few questions on how they should fit, so I shot off an email to their 'info' email address. Within the hour, I got an email back from Pete Searson, one of the owners, with his personal cell and a request for me to call him to talk denim and fit. After 10-15 minutes of his time, i was settled on a size and comfortable in my choice. It was clear that Pete knows denim, stands by his product, and believes in quality customer service. Also, returns are easy and, should you need a hem, you can send your jeans back to them and they cover shipping both ways and hem for free. Hard to beat that! Jeans: Quality is top notch. Denim, seams, stitching, pocket bags, etc is all A+. 14.75 oz weight feels like a good all around weight that shouldn't be too hot in the summer. The weight isn't as heavy as I anticipated, so I might go with the 16oz for the next pair. I am happy with the 14.75 though. Styling is simple with small nods of character...nothing overt. Fit: I'm 5'9" 155-160ibs with "athletic" thighs. I chose the Sheffield because of the extra room in the thigh. I ordered the 30 and 31 to compare size. The 30 were snug (not tight) off the bat and the 31 fit well to start. I kept the size tagged 30 and am happy I did. After a few weeks of wear, they have loosened up in waist, thighs, and throughout the top block. Seeing how they loosened up, I might have even been able to get away with a 29". However, I am happy with my choice to go with the 30"...the 31's would have ended up too big. After a few weeks of wear, here are the measurements of my pair of 30" Sheffields (results may vary): Waist: 16.75"(x2) = 33.5 Front Rise: 10.5" Back Rise: 16" Thigh @ 1" down: 11.75"(x2) = 23.5" Leg Opening (mine have been hemmed to 31" inseam): 8"(x2) = 16" Bottom line: I love the jeans, wear them all the time, and will most certainly buy another pair of Tellasons. Might try the 16 oz Sheffields or JGM next. The great customer service and quality product will keep me coming back.
My first pair of raw denim. Excellent build quality and construction. Excited to see how they age!
Overall these are really great jeans; strong and beautifully finished. Waist fit is exactly to measurements. They come with a fairly long inseam. I'll be buying a few more pairs of these soon.
