Found Tellason after what I thought would be a pretty easy search for a pair of selvedge jeans that's 100% cotton, and NOT stretch denim. Turns out that was harder than anticipated. But I am very happy that I found Tellason, and I am very happy with this pair of jeans. Excellent construction, they look great, and the fabric is breaking in nicely after a couple of weeks. I'm on the shorter side (5'6"), and they recommended the John Graham Mellors. Great recommendation. These jeans run true to size. I wear a size 33 according to most brands, and a Tellason 34 fits me perfectly. So you may want to size up. Use the fit charts. Also, customer service has been outstanding. Without belaboring all the details, I had an issue with my order going AWOL, and they shipped out a replacement pair, no questions asked. The original pair eventually showed up, so I sent it back to Tellason.
First ever pair of raw denim jeans for me. I’ve been a Levi’s guy for most of my life. These jeans are far superior. Definitely feels different but are surprisingly comfortable right out of the package. I expected them to be quite stiff but they weren’t that bad. These do not fit as slim as I anticipated though. I’m 5’8” and weigh 146. I normally wear 511 Levi’s in a 30 x 32. These will not be as snug as the 511, at least prewashed. Highly recommend
I first bought a pair of Tellason Stock and that lead me to trying a pair of the selvedge jeans. I decided to go with Tellason's original in 14.75 oz and they are exactly what I hoped they would be. They are more of a straight leg than a slim on me, but they look great. I have lost a lot of weight in the last 18 months (about 150 pounds), so jeans like these used to be something that weren't made in my size. I am thrilled to be able to wear them now.
The quality, comfort, longevity, price, location of fabrication, and fit are so good I have a hard time finding any negatives. Great jeans, great company. I hope they keep this up for a long time.
These jeans are the best. They fit great, feel great and look great with all of my cowboy boots I bought them to wear with. Pete & Tony are awesome as well! I have shifted to most of my purchases being Made in the U.S.A. Tellason has become the standard which I compare all others to. Keep it up guys. I will keep coming back for more.
These jeans are terrific quality. I am 5’8”, 175 and the 36” waist fits perfect.
I’m a more athletic 5’ 10”, 210lbs, and typically wear a waist size 33-34 (inseam 30”). After comparing my current jeans to the product measurements Tony provided, I decided to go with size 35. They fit perfectly in the hips/waist/legs. They do have significant length, but look good stacked or cuffed. This extra material is new to me, but I like it well enough. I’ll give it some time and can always hem later if I change my mind. Overall, the quality and feel of the jeans is positively unlike any pair of jeans I’ve ever purchased. No pre-made holes. Quality stitching and fasteners. Looks and feels good. I was expecting them to be much stiffer after reading other reviews. I’ve worn them just over a week and finding them pretty comfortable already. I love that they are made in the USA. The shuttle loom selvedged denim is definitely cool/unique. I can’t remember the last time I was excited to buy a pair of jeans, but I’m glad I gave these a try. I’ll be looking forward to breaking them in and to some cool fading. Thanks for a great product!
Best jeans ever! I wore Levi's growing up and gave up for obvious reasons. I am now a couple of pairs into Tellasons (which, is a few years now, of course) and I love them. Perfect fit, quality, and look. I love what they stand for and the fact that my perfect cut is named after Joe Strummer. Well done.
I bought my first of JGM denim in 2010, sight unseen, after reading about Tellason in Men's Journal. Since that time, I've been a huge fan of the brand, and its owners. You're not going to find two gentlemen more devoted to making quality denim in the USA, and it shows in their products. I've owned the JGM in the medium and heavy weights in both Cone and Kaihara denim. If you're a Cone fan and you're skeptical about trying Tellason's proprietary Kaihara denim, don't be. The Kaihara denim is gorgeous and really comes to life after some wear and a few soaks. Superb all around, from fit to finish, stitch to stitch !
