JGM heavyweight and Ladbroke Grove Heavyweight were in a stiff competition for my love. The Blubaugh just might have nudged them both aside.
I can't stress enough how happy I am with these jeans. Over the years I've gone through all types of denim brands, cuts, weights, and I can say without a doubt, that Tellason makes my favorite jeans. Hands down. I've been wearing my new pair of Blubaugh for a few days, and the cut is great. Slim, but not skinny, or tight, with a leg opening wide enough for engineer boots. Haven't broken these in yet, but I do have a pair of Tellaon's Sheffield I've been wearing for a few years in the same weight and same 16.5 Kaihara denim, so I already have a sense of how these will fade and soften up with wear and wash. Also, have to say that the guys at Tellason are super helpful and definitely make the process of buying jeans online easy with their sizing tips and no hassle return policy.
Alliteration aside, the Blubaugh’s are hands down the most perfect pair of jeans. I just recently acquired my second pair in indigo, after having picked up a pair of black earlier this year. The rise is tall, without being dorky. The thigh is fitted, without being “skinny”. And the knee through hem is seriously the most perfect proportion, I can’t imagine another pair of jeans not hanging like these do. I love the Blubaugh’s enough that I asked Tony if I could shell it out for a custom pair in International Orange (one can only dream), because, hot damn, I will wear these jeans all day every day from here on out.
Great jeans, unfortunately I ordered a 34 which were way too big. Waist measured more like a 35-36 (double the measurement across waist). I’ll be looking at getting a 32 when available. Tony has been helpful with communicatons. Thanks Tony, great products, great denim.
I've been following the exploits of Todd Blubaugh for a while, it's actually how I discovered Tellason. As a motorcyclist myself I was interested in Todd's design. It's early days, but I love the fit so far. I contacted Tellason about the fit and they were spot on with their recommendation. I confess I went one size under and got away with it, but the recommended size would have been better (In my head I'm always going to shed some weight). I really like the mid-rise cut which keeps the chill from your back when you are on the bike. I have a pair of Ankara which I also like, although I think the cut of the Blubaugh is the one for me (going to buy another pair). Other than that, the quality and service from Tellason is excellent and the speed of shipping to Australia is incredible.
Tellason, great denim, great construction, great people. What more can you ask for. I’ve worn out several pairs of Tellason, worn my share of different cuts over the years. The Blubaugh is by far my favorite. A classic slim straight fit, tough, and no frills.
This is without a doubt the best pair of jeans i've ever owned. its hard to find a cut like this now a days. Most modern jeans are either too slim and tapered, or too baggy and loose. This jean is the perfect amount of fitted but with enough of a leg opening to fit over a cowboy boot. The silhouette harkens back to the old days of western styled jeans that were rugged, functional, and complimenting to a mans frame. If you dont like swimming in your jeans, but also aren't a fan of the modern skin tight legging phenomenon, buy these ASAP. Wear them in the shower and let them dry while wearing them and they break right in. Great job tellason. Never stop making these!
On a cold winter day my wife informed me she was able to see my bits though the holes in my Wranglers. I didn’t know what to do about it, every pair of pants I wore had the same fully customized air vents after only a couple months. She was sick of it, and told me I needed a new pair. I was about to hop in my ‘67 3/4 ton (truck, not wife) and roll on over to Walmart to pick up another pair of my old unfaithfuls. Long story short, my wife told me “ain’t no way you’re gonna get them again.” I did my due diligence, went on over to my neighbor Donny’s trailer to use his computer and found Tellason. I don’t know much about much, but knew I wanted a good pair of jeans. Called Pete and Tony, and they got my lined out on what the deal was. I was hesitant at first on the price, and figured these would be on reserve for date nights to Miss Mudd’s Chuckwagon. The jeans got to my door in 2 days. They immediately fit great, and my wife gave me a look I’d never seen before. I liked that look, and have since not taken the pants off (all other pants were thrown away.) That was 9 months ago. With a newborn child, having jeans that aren’t beat 8 ways to Sunday leaves one less thing to deal with. Do yourself a favor, get a pair.
Finally after Rouge Territory, RailCar, Iron Heart. I’ve been searching for a slim straight cut that fits a man that’s 60 years old that knows the jeans of the 60’s and 70’s. Use to buy my jeans at The Shirt Works on San Carlos in San Jose. Now you know what I’m talking about... These Blubaughs are the cut! No low waist, no girly taper, no hugging at the hip. Perfect weight, color, texture and fit! I’m 6’1” and about 230 lbs. 35 waste with the 34 length are spot freak’n on! This is what a jean should wear like. The leg opening sits perfect on boots, Pecos, 877’s, all my Red Wing Heritage and my Alden’s even.. Freak’n great with Converse. Definitely the cut you don’t want to cuff... Just wish you boyz at Tellason would add 37 waist to the Chinos. You could pick up lots of business from us guys in are 50’s and 60’s. We were wearing this stuff back then, and want to wear it now straight up! No frills! Just the sizes.. And when are big or elephant bells coming back! Thx for this cut guys! And the sizing!
